Weld Seam Inspection

(manual or mechanised)

Weld Seam inspections are the classic among ultrasonic testing. The entire weld seam, including the surfaces, is inspected in accordance with the standards.

With ultrasonic weld seam inspections, no barriers and elaborate safety measures are required in your company. All activities in the vicinity of the inspection are still possible.

Your advantage: You save time with these reliable inspections.

Standards of weld seam testing are adhered to by our certified inspection team. The results of the ultrasonic weld seam inspection document the quality of your component.

Principle (manual)

Weld Seam Testing uses several angular probes that direct the sound obliquely into the interior of the inspection object.

In case of an incompleteness, i.e. a defect in the material, the ultrasound is reflected and sent back to the probe as an echo.

This inspection method enables us to detect weld defects, cracks, inclusions, binding defects or porosity clearly and quickly.

Principle (mechanised)

The method of automated Ultrasonic Testing differs from Manual Ultrasonic Testing in that measurement data is stored for extended evaluations. The inspection team does not need to have contact with the inspection object.

This method provides true-to-location images of the components to be inspected. These are used, for example, to document the quality and integrity of high-quality products with traceable evidence.

Wall Thickness Measurement

(manual or mechanised)

Wall thicknesses are elementary information for the safe operation of your components.

Corrosion and erosion continuously reduces the wall thickness of components. With adapted Wall Thickness Measurements, we provide you with information on the local wall thickness with standard-compliant resolution. With these measurement results, you can responsibly monitor the operation of your system.

In hard-to-reach positions, our NDT engineers enable Wall Thickness Measurements with remote-controlled manipulators.

These manipulators reduce your inspection costs through systematic inspection concepts and adapted inspection parameters.

Principle

In a wall thickness measurement through steel, the sound path travel time is measured that an ultrasonic signal needs to pass through the inspection object.

Special timing elements with an extremely high time resolution thus enable an accuracy of wall thickness measurement of 0.7 mm.

Today, wall thickness measurements by ultrasound are mainly used to detect erosion or corrosion on components or for their regular quality control.

Special Inspections

(manual or mechanised)

Components that are exposed to special conditions in your company or have an unusual condition or position require very special inspection procedures.

Our experienced NDT engineers carry out standardised special inspections when conventional inspection techniques are not sufficient to achieve the desired results.

Application

Special inspections often take place in nuclear power plants or industrial facilities with increased safety risks.

Special safety areas often have to be set up for special inspections.

Special inspections require our highly qualified NDT engineers to deliver reliable and reproducible results in time-critical situations or highly sensitive inspection environments.
