Prüfleistungen: Die Wahl der Mittel ist entscheidend.
Non-destructive testing
The right choice of efficient technique is crucial.
Our highly qualified NDT team performs ultrasonic testing in our special facility at the company headquarters in Gladbeck or on your premises worldwide.
Your individual inspection task is always in the foreground when it comes to the right choice of efficient technique.
Based on the nature, size and accessibility of the component to be inspected, we determine the most efficient and economical inspection solution for you to detect internal defects or weak points of components using ultrasonic waves.
Following the inspections, we document the current quality status of your components and systems in a detailed and reliable report.
Accredited inspection laboratory
For many years our inspection laboratory was registered at the German Accreditation Body (DAkks).
Due to the change of the internationally valid guidelines we have paused this year in order to prepare ourselves for the new legal requirements and mandatory rules at the highest level.
We have already resumed the accreditation procedure for 2023.
Quality management system
At Müller & Medenbach, we guarantee uniform quality management with our voluntary certification at national, European and global level.
We commit ourselves on the basis of the "Standard according to High Level Structure" to continuously review and securing our daily work steps in the management segments of organization, processes, communication and documentation.
Quality assurance according to nuclear rules
The demands placed on service providers for nuclear facilities are understandably very high. With our certification by the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission, we meet all system- and product-related quality and safety standards in the planning and execution of manual and mechanised non-destructive testing at the highest level.
Personnel certification
We place great value on the highly qualified training of our NDT engineers. The certificates of our NDT team are renewed every five years. With this and with regular further training measures, we ensure the high level of training of our specialists.
Occupational safety, health, environment
As an external service provider for industrial parks and plants, we have to adapt nationally and internationally to to a wide variety of work processes and foreign environments. This often entails major safety risks in a wide variety of areas.
With our safety certificate for contractors, we act in accordance with elementary occupational safety, health and environmental protection standards in line with the normative regulations of the SGU.
Basically, each method of our ultrasonic inspection is based on the four pillars of sound, sound echo, distance and speed and allows a look into a solid body without destroying it.
Depending on the procedure, our inspections use one or more highly engineered probes whose crystals are vibrated by alternating current and generate the required sound waves on the test block.
Due to this impulse effect, the energy of the waves spreads further. If a wave hits a discontinuity, i.e. a material defect, the wave cannot penetrate the material any further and throws its echo back to the probe.
Based on the frequency with which the ultrasonic waves are sent, their expansion and the distance they cover in the material, we calculate exact test results, name the material defect and document all values in a way that you can understand.
AT A GLANCE:
Manual ultrasonic testing is the direct contact of the NDT engineer with the component.
With manual ultrasonic inspections, so-called manual scannings, we quickly and safely inspect components for which you need a quick inspection statement that conforms to standards.
Our certified NDT engineers provide you with immediate test results with which you can safely operate your component.
Principle
The inspected component is evaluated on the basis of so-called A-scan presentation, an imaging representation of the transit time of each individual reflected echo signal, on the monitor of the ultrasonic device used.
These A-scan presentations are evaluated directly on the monitor by our NDT team. The inspection result is recorded on site and is available to our customers within a very short time.
Scopes
As a rule, manual ultrasonic testing is suitable for all plant components made of materials capable of conducting sound, including those that are permanently installed.
We perform mechanised ultrasonic testing on components that are difficult to access, made of materials that are difficult to inspect or have a complicated shape.
The ultrasonic data are recorded with precise coordinates and lead to detailed inspection results. We project these results in the coordinate system of the component in an understandable presentation. With these reproducible indication formats, you will convince all experts of the quality of your components.
We document all details of the mechanised data acquisition and evaluation in inspection reports in accordance with the standards. Our NDT engineers will be happy to design mechanised ultrasonic tests together with your experts on request.
Principle
We process the stored results of the mechanised ultrasonic testing and the respective location coordinates of the test specimen both on- and offline.
The imaging of B-, C- and D- scan presentations, i.e. multi-dimensional and coloured images, provides us with a comprehensible view of the inspected component. In this way, we can also display recurring inspections of highly stressed components in a comparable way.
For mechanised ultrasonic testing, we have a variety of manipulators that can be adapted to the inspection task. It can be performed with conventional and with phased array techniques (see column on the right mPAUT).
Scopes
Mechanised ultrasonic testing achieves very good inspection results for recurring inspections, inspections of highly loaded system components and also when accessibility for the NDT team is restricted, for safety or other reasons.
Phased array and mechanised phased array tests offer you extended inspection statements in shorter examination times, on complicated components and in special inspection situations.
For this purpose, we use inspection techniques that are precisely adapted to your inspection situation.
Our experienced NDT engineers provide you with inspection results that help immediately. With the state of the art inspection technology, we solve your inspection tasks even under extreme conditions.
Principle
The difference between phased array testing and other testing methods lies in the probe. With a single probe, many different ultrasonic data can be generated, as the beam angle and the direction of the sound beam can be influenced at any time.
For example, special transducers designed by us contain several sensors in a single housing, which are activated at specific ultrasonic frequencies.
In the probe, the incoming sound pulses are processed and can be called up in an imaging material presentation.
The advantages of this inspection technique are the extremely fast inspection speed and the simplification of complex inspection procedures.
Scopes
Phased array ultrasonic tests provide our customers with enormous advantages when components have to be inspected during short system downtimes or narrow inspection time windows:
